TTR adds Style Points to Judging

Finally some good news for the snowboard industry. This is exactly what I've been bitching for over the last year. Way to go TTR for finally listening!

Albany Ski & Snowboard Expo: Part I

As some may already know, I'm also a writer for Shredbetties.com and this past weekend I attended the Albany Ski & Snowboard Expo to get down on some interviews.
As each video goes up on the site, I'll post a link to it as well as the video. So here's Part I, checking in with Okemo Mountain.

Pablo Films Presents Euro Gap 3

November 7, 2010, Pablo Films released Euro Gap 3. It's the third year for the film, and definitely the best one to date. It stays true to it's bad boy antics and just presents some all around shred fun. Party scenes, ball busting pranks, and aweful 'Norwegan Karaoke' round out the film and may even make you giggle.

The film features Eero Ettala, Heiki Sorsa, Lauri Heiskari, Jussi Oksanen, Iikka Backstrom, and many more. So what are you waiting for? Head over to the website and check it out.

9191: A Review

After hearing a lot of good things about 9191 (A Veeco Production), I picked it up and hoped it would meet my expectations. Instead, I was left with mixed feelings. It was a well edited video but the ending just kind of... ended. The teaser played it up to be something more than it really was.

Snowporning Presents The '10th Movie' Trailer

Snowparning has released the trailer to the Czech movie - The '10th Movie'. If you're down with urban jibbing, powder shredding, and throwing down over a moving train then this flick is for you. Check it out: The '10th Movie' Trailer.

The Northeast Reigns Supreme

Last week, the Great Northeast got hit with some snow. Granted it was only in the higher elevations on Vermont and New York, it still reassures us that winter is just around the corner.

Thanks to twitter, youtube, some snowboard addict friends, and countless websites it was more than evident that everyone is ready to shred. If you had your head in a whole here's a look at some pictures and videos as evidence.

Snowboarder enjoying opening day at Sunday River ME

That's right lads and gents, Sunday River is officially the first mountain to open for the 2010/2011 season. They may only have one run open, but it's one run that wasn't available two days ago.

Here's a quick video of a shredder making some turns at Stowe, VT. While you're at it, get the gear out because winter is a'coming!

East Coast Contest Coverage

This season I'm planning on doing some contest and event coverage on the East Coast. So far I am confirmed to cover the following contests and events:

Boston Ski and Snowboard Expo
Eastern Snowboard League - Holiday Valley
Winter Dew Tour - Killington
US Open - Stratton

The east coast isn't blessed with a large number of contests and I know I'm most likely missing some. If you have a contest that you'd like to see covered, leave a comment.

Snow is beginning to fall every where but here but non the less winter is on it's way!

Reflection: ShredBetties.com

This week's reflection is with Kelly Vance from ShredBetties.com. Check it out!

Stratton 3/21/10

And so it began, our last day riding of the season.. Pete and I headed back out to the US Open to take a few runs and catch some of the Junior Jam half pipe competition.

Reflection: Christina Johnson

As stated in a previous entry, I am doing a series of reflection interviews involving myself, other snowboarders, and snowboard companies. This weeks installment, and the first Reflection article is going to about the season I have had to this point. Take a look!

West Mountain 3/15/10

Monday morning after a long night at work my husband and I headed up to West Mountain to use some free passes we had before all the snow melted. We ended up getting on the second and third chairs which was super sweet.

Jiminy Peak 3/12/10

I headed up to Jiminy Peak on Friday with a co-worker who wanted to try snowboarding for the first time. We headed out around noon and realized when we got there that we forgot lunch back at my place. Oops! I meant to feed her, I swear!

WTF: Where's All the Snow?

It's the middle of March but it looks and feels like it's the middle of April. We haven't had any new snowfall since the middle of February. Instead we've been getting some rain and some warm temps. Really?

West Mountain 2/27/10

Yesterday my husband and I decided to head up to West Mountain for the day. We hit up West a few times last season so it was nice to head back this year. I brought my camera but didn't end up taking any pictures while we were there. The visibility was really poor due to the fog and snow that was falling so I decided to forgo the pictures.

It Snows in New York?

If anyone has made a trip to New York this winter, they might have left asking themselves, "Isn't it supposed to snow in New York?" One would wonder...

Photo of the Day!

This weeks photo of the day is a picture I found of a snow storm we got here in Albany, NY in December 2007. 10 inches of snow fell from that storm alone!!

Happy New Year's!!!!

I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

If you were lucky enough to get some fresh snow, I hope you'll take advantage of it tomorrow!!!

Have a safe and happy night, on to 2010!

Been M.I.A. for a few..

Sorry for the lack of updates the last week or so. There hasn't been a whole lot going on!!

I still haven't returned to the gym because my leg was still hurting pretty bad until a couple days ago.. and now I have a ridiculous head cold and I can't breath out of my nose. Not fair!!!

I'm hoping to being able to head back to the gym on either Monday or Tuesday. And I'll definitely be hitting up a mountain or two after Christmas.

And too all my southern state friends, NOT FAIR!!!! We didn't see any snow yesterday!

Slacker!!

I've become a slacker this week. Bad news!! With Thanksgiving and whatnot, there has been no time to do anything.

I'm hoping to hit up a spin class tomorrow morning to make up for my lack of motivation the last couple days. And then this week is praying and hoping for snow!!! A couple mountains got between 6 and 18 inches overnight.

Can't wait to go boarding!! Training, writing, and boarding.. it's going to be an amazing winter!!
